The Science Behind Skinscope
Salt Spa is excited to offer skin evaluations with SkinCeutical’s Skinscope LED machine. The Skinscope uses two modes of light to assess your skin – a daylight mode and a LED-UV light mode. The daylight mode captures those visible concerns you can see in the mirror, while the LED-UV light mode uses fluorescence technology to see what lies beneath the skin.
The daylight mode reveals common concerns, such as:
- Acne
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Uneven skin tone
- Redness and blotchiness
The LED-UV light mode reveals concerns including:
- Unwanted pigmentation
- Poor shedding or peeling of the skin, known as desquamation
- Dehydration
- Congested ppors
- Oily skin
Normal, healthy skin reflects shades of blue light. Skins with a variety of concerns reflect different colors of light depending on the specific issue. Our providers will note your skin’s specific concerns, and recommend appropriate treatment during the consultation.
